Drexel University Event with Dr. Gene Bishop

Over 50 first and second year students at the Drexel University College of Medicine recently participated in a forum on single payer national health reform and the candidates’ health plans. The forum was sponsored by the Health Policy Student Interest Group and featured Dr. Gene Bishop, a leader of the Philadelphia chapter of Physicians for a National Health Program.

The medical student who organized the event, Salman Punekar, was pleased with the results. “The talk went well, we had a great turnout, and lots of positive feedback. The best part was that it was at an appropriate level for medical students and it was right in time for the election”.
